A water disaster turned around

Water damage through storms can have lasting consequences for years to come if not attended to. As hard as it is often the only solution is to remove the walls, insulation and inspect the damage to enable a clear assessment of the internal wall damage. Mould and spores have a resistance that is underestimated in these situations.

I had a client whose builder was trying to seal the water into the ceilings and walls to cover up the problem with the outcome not becoming evident for some years.

There is so much more to building than a builder’s license and insurance. Both are absolutely necessary but at the end of the day, these are just tickets to the game. The real test is the quality of work, the adherence to the specification of each product and how you can ensure that your client gets the best job with all the product warranties in place. Did your builder do that?
